Bob Seger – Old Time Rock & Roll

“Old Time Rock & Roll” is one of those few songs that have been fortunate enough to experience a second life due to inclusion in the box office smash “Risky Business” starring Tom Cruise (real name: Thomas Mapother).  Born in 1945 in Dearborn, Michigan Bob Seger became a steady chart chart performer in Rock history cranking out such hits as “Still The Same”, “Shame On The Moon”, and the #1 hit “Shakedown” from the movie “Beverly Hills Cop II” starring Eddie Murphy.  His most memorable song however was “Old Time Rock & Roll”, a song first released in 1979 reaching #28 but re-charted in 1983 (peaking at #48) thanks in large part to Tom Cruise and his dark sunglasses.  The two have become synonymous with one another and has propelled “Old Time Rock & Roll” into one of the most definitive party/weddingsongs of all-time.
