Marcia Griffiths – Electric Boogie (Slide)

Most people know this song as the “Electric Slide”, a dance that was and still is to this day a fixture at most weddings and parties.  Marcia was a member of the legendary Bob Marley’s backing band The I Threes, from 1974-81.  In late 1989, the Jamaican born singer released “Electric Boogie” prompting a worldwide dance craze.  Amazingly enough, “Electric Boogie” never made Billboard’s Top 40, peaking at #51.  It was Marcia’s only hit released in America, but the song has gone down as one of the most definitive party/wedding songs of all-time.
